These birdcage netting styles are available in Russian netting as pictured below, or can also be made in regular soft veiling tulle, shimmer veiling tulle or metallic silver netting. We can also add diamontes, crystal drops, small seed pearls, lace trim or other elements to the netting edge for added interest. "edie" net |
EDIE STYLE: Edie is worn towards the side back of the head and can be easily placed on either side. It has a little fullness on the top which can be pinned down with hairpins to flatten it as desired. It is designed to sweep the forehead asymmetrically and can be worn all day and night as it does not obstruct eye vision at all. This netting style comes as a separate piece to your fascinator so that you can remove it easily and can be turned around backwards after your ceremony to resemble a cute 'pouf' veil.
ADDITIONS: This netting style looks great with scattered diamontes applied to the netting to add some sparkle and shine.
HAIRSTYLES TO SUIT:
This style is a universal style. It has enough fullness and body to compliment short hair and slicked back styles and also works well with long hair and up-dos. |
|

"milla" net |
MILLA STYLE: Milla is worn towards the side of the head and can be easily placed on either side. It is a little smaller than the Edie style pictured above and has a little less volume. It is designed to sweep the forehead asymmetrically but can also be positioned a little more to the side of the head if required.
The netting may be worn all day and night as it does not obstruct eye vision at all. This netting style comes as a separate piece to your fascinator so that you can remove it easily and can be turned around backwards after your ceremony to resemble a cute 'pouf' veil.
HAIRSTYLES TO SUIT:
Half up dos for long hair or long hairstyles in general
Hair pulled back or down low or to the side
Short hair dos and bob-style hair cuts |

"harlow" net |
HARLOW STYLE: Harlow is worn towards the side back of the head. It has a little fullness to the low side and a flattened out top. This style can be made to be worn on either side of the head. Please advise which side you would like to wear it on when you place your order.

"petunia" net |
PETUNIA STYLE: The Petunia is a cute little number with a little added fullness that sits quite high to the side of the head. It does not extend around to the back of the head and is therefore suitable for many different up-do hairstyles such as french rolls as it will not interfere with the hair at all.
The netting may be worn all day and all night as it does not obstruct eye vision at all and is detachable.
HAIRSTYLES TO SUIT:
This is another universal style that looks great with any kind of hairstyle whether it be up or down. Combine this or the Stacey style below with a small comb feature for a cute, understated and retro kind of look. |
|

"stacey" net 1 |
STACEY STYLE: The Stacey net is a fluted circular piece of netting which can be placed in a number of positions on your head. Your fascinator piece will generally sit from within the centre of the netting. The netting itself is made up separately to the fascinator that you choose so that you can wear the fascinator on it's own if you desire, or they can be permanently attached together if you intend on never removing the netting.
ADDITIONS: This netting style looks great with scattered diamontes or tiny seed pearls added to the edging.

This is an alternative placement view for the Stacey net as described above. This is a very versatile type of birdcage net. |

"gina" net 1 |
GINA STYLE: The Gina net is a larger version of the Stacey in that it has a beautiful fluted look. It does not form a circular piece however like the Stacey. This one gathers around to the back of the net so that your fascinator will sit more towards the middle back of the netting. This style has quite a high fashion look and makes quite a statement, however, it is also possible to pin down sections of the netting onto your hair to hold it down flatter if desired.
This net is usually made separately to your fascinator to allow you to position your fascinator wherever you see fit.
ADDITIONS: This netting style looks great with scattered diamontes or tiny seed pearls added to the edging.
HAIRSTYLES TO SUIT:
Looks great with short hairstyles, slicked back styles, up-dos or hair pulled back and down low. |

"carris" net |
CARRIS STYLE: The Carris birdcage net is a classic style which sweeps from the back of the head and pulls forward over the crown to cover both of the eyes. It has a slight fullness on top but sits fairly fitted over the head.
The netting is made separately to your fascinator so that it is easily detachable.
HAIRSTYLES TO SUIT:
Looks best with half-up hairstyles or all hair worn up at a medium to low height.
*Please note that the type of netting used in this picture is a stiffer net with larger holes. We do not use this type of netting any more. This birdcage style is now available in the softer, smaller holed nets pictured above such as the Edie and Harlow styles. |
|

"bandeau" net |
BANDEAU STYLE: The Bandeau style of net is a very popular choice for brides. It features a fascinator on one side with the opposing side having a small complimentary diamonte, crystal or pearl comb. The netting extends from one side of the head to the other and is usually detachable from both side combs. You can see more pics of the bandeau style on the Ready-made 'Sharlin birdcage' page.
HAIRSTYLES TO SUIT:
This style looks great with short hairstyles or long half-up styles. It also suits up-dos and hair pulled back or to the side.

"visor" net |
VISOR STYLE: The Visor birdcage net is another very popular style. It has a slimmer piece of netting which covers the eyes and wraps from one side of the head to the other. Some brides choose to add a fascinator to one side and have a small complimentary side comb on the other side, and some choose to have identical combs on either side for a simple and polished look. This netting is detachable from both sides.
HAIRSTYLES TO SUIT:
This style will suit most hairstyles that have a bit of volume such as some curls - whether it be an up-do or down but will also look very stylish with slicked back hairstyles if you add a substantially sized fascinator to one side. The Visor can also look very sleek against straight hair being worn down - this is a very edgy look though so bring your confidence and attitude to pull it off!
